The Centre for Internet and Society

The Centre for Internet and Society is a non-profit research organization that works on policy issues relating to freedom of expression, privacy, accessibility for persons with disabilities, access to knowledge and IPR reform, and openness (including open government, FOSS, open standards, etc.), and engages in academic research on digital natives and digital humanities.

The Team

Dr. Nirmita Narasimhan
Dr. Nirmita Narasimhan is a Policy Director at CIS and works on policy research and advocacy related to IP reform and technology access for persons with disabilities.

Anirudh Sridhar
Anirudh Sridhar is a Senior at SUNY school of Environment and Forestry. His romance with issues of the oppressed first flamed into life during high school when he became a proselytizer for vegetarianism and a strong advocate of Animal Rights. He is currently studying Environmental Policy, Planning and Law and after his stint at the Indian Supreme Court working on environmental law, wishes to work on policy and frequent the UN as a delegate even after he loses the "youth" status. He enjoys writing, playing cricket and long conversations.

Prasad Krishna
Prasad Krishna is a Publications Manager at CIS and works on updating the CIS website including uploading of blog posts, new events, media coverage, event reports and all other featured research outputs.

Ajoy Kumar
Ajoy Kumar is an Administrator at CIS. He manages all the events organised by CIS including hotel and travel bookings, does the liasoning with government offices and Members of Parliament, etc. Ajoy also works as a part-time lawyer doing property documentation.

Usha Nandini
Usha Nandini is an Accounts Officer at CIS. She prepares the financial statements, MIS reports, maintains and analyzes budgets, coordinates with banks, advises the management about issues such as resource utilisation, tax strategies, etc.
